BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors oversees the general direction of the International Business Ethics Institute. The Board meets quarterly, with one meeting held in person annually. Board members volunteer their valuable time and receive no compensation from the Institute for their important contributions.

Lori Tansey Martens is a leading authority on international business ethics and has been recognized as a contemporary American opinion leader. Active in the field of business ethics for more than 15 years, Ms. Tansey Martens frequently travels the world over speaking on matters of business ethics and has been quoted in publications including the New York Times, Guardian, USA Today and Business Ethics Magazine. She has also appeared on such news broadcasts as the Nightly Business Report and CNN Financial News. She has conducted ethics training programs throughout the world, including Africa, the Asia Pacific, Eastern and Western Europe, and Latin and North America.

 Anita B Baker Ph.D. Chair

Dr. Anita B. Baker is the former Manager of the World Bank Group’s Office of Business Ethics and Integrity. While at the WBG (1998-2002), she conducted integrity awareness seminars and workshops for staff and clients in Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, China, Indonesia, Japan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and South Africa. She was responsible for developing the first value-based Code of Ethics for the WBG and establishing a new Ethics Office. Previous to the WBG, she held various senior management positions during the 14 years she worked at the Lockheed Martin Corporation (1984-1998), including Sector Director, Ethics and Business Conduct, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Bethesda Maryland. Before joining Lockheed, Baker was an Associate Professor and Director of International Education, The University of Utah (1970-1981); Assistant Dean, Undergraduate Faculty, The University of Maryland University College (1981-1984); and Chairperson, Advanced Scandinavian Area Studies, School of Area Studies, Foreign Service Institute, U. S. Department of State, Washington, D.C.

Mr. Daniel Karslake Vice President

Mr. Daniel Karslake is an award-winning producer and a founding partner of The Atticus Group, Inc., a New York-based production company dedicated to reinventing traditional art forms and promoting discussion across a wide range of contemporary issues. The Atticus Group was represented on Broadway in 2003 by Baz Luhrmann's Tony Award-winning production of Puccini's LA BOHEME. Atticus also co-produced the innovative revival of BIG RIVER with the Roundabout Theatre Company and will produce a new musical called HARMONY with music by Barry Manilow and book and lyrics by Bruce Sussman.

Mr. Hy Krieger Treasurer

Mr. Hyman L. Krieger has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in public service, including both government and the nonprofit sector. His career in the U.S. General Accounting Office (GAO) spanned 34 years, and included managing the Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Washington Regional Offices. His final assignment was as Director of the Federal Personnel and Compensation Division. During this time, he led the effort that culminated in developing the legislation which led to the Ethics in Government Act of 1978.

Ms. Parrish is an attorney and managing partner of Parrish Law Offices. She has worked with academic medical centers, research institutions, high technology, and start-up companies, particularly those in the life sciences area. Her areas of legal concentration are science law (including scientific misconduct and research regulations, compliance and investigations), intellectual property (including patent prosecution and litigation), and health care (with a focus on reimbursement for new technology).

Mr. Jason D. Brueschke

Mr. Jason Brueschke is currently with Citigroup. Prior to joining Citigroup, he was a Senior Infrastructure Software analyst at Pacific Growth Equities, a San Francisco-based technology-focused investment bank. He focused on the Chinese Technology Sector and Infrastructure Software. Mr. Brueschke has also worked with Robertson Stephens in London, where he was the Senior European Software & IT Services analyst. He has also worked in Mergers & Acquisitions with Credit Suisse First Boston in New York and with InterAsia Venture Management Ltd., a Hong Kong-based venture capital firm.
