JAMES B. WIGLE FELLOWSHIP IN BUSINESS ETHICSFor MBA Students
The International Business Ethics Institute periodically offers the James B. Wigle Fellowship for MBA students. A nonprofit, educational organization, the Institute works closely with multinational companies to assist them in establishing effective international ethics programs. The Institute also sponsors public education initiatives that provide practical solutions for challenging global business ethics issues to ethics practitioners, senior business leaders, representatives of governments and nongovernmental organizations, and academia.
Fellowship Overview The James B. Wigle Fellowship was established to honor the memory and lifelong contributions of James B. Wigle, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Business Ethics Institute.
The Wigle Fellowship provides MBA students with practical experience in business ethics and the opportunity to learn how effective business practices programs can benefit companies and organizations. The Wigle Fellow will work on consulting projects, assisting multinational companies and other organizations with facets of their organizational ethics programs. As well, the Wigle Fellow will work on public education projects designed to educate business leaders and others on solutions for key challenges in global business ethics.
The Wigle Fellow will work alongside Institute staff members for 40 hours/week for 8 weeks during the summer. The Wigle Fellow will receive a stipend of $3,500/month. An additional relocation and housing allowance will be available to candidates that will need to relocate to the Washington, DC area.
Who should apply? The Wigle Fellowship is open to MBA students with an interest in the fields of business ethics and corporate responsibility. Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited full-time MBA program, and complete the fellowship the summer between the first and second year of their program. Preference will be given to students with international experience and work experience.
The Application Process The Institute will not be offering internships during the academic year 2007/2008. Please contact us again in Fall of 2008 for internship opportunities. Timeline The Institute will next offer a Wigle Fellowship during the summer of 2009.
